INDIANA GARDEN CLUB

 

 

IGC Awards 4 Julia Pound Scholarships 

Lawrence Shock, Jr. is a graduate of Indiana High School and is attending Penn State University with a major in Turfgrass Management.

Johanna Runyan is a graduate of Marion Center High School and is attending Penn State University majoring in Landscape Architecture with a minor in Visual Arts.

Joseph Heilman is a 2nd year recipient of an Indiana Garden Club Scholarship.  He attends Penn State University and majors in Landscape Architecture.  He is a graduate of Indiana High School.

Michael Miller is a graduate of Penns Manor High School and is attending Penn State University majoring in Agriculture Systems Management.

The club established the scholarships to honor the late Julia Pound, a long-time member of the club who served as president of the Garden Club 1947-1949.  They are available to graduates of Indiana County high schools for post-high secondary studies in ecology, horticulture, landscape design, landscape architecture, conservation, botany, forestry, agriculture or earth sciences. Applications are available from the guidance counselors of all the county high schools.
